NOTE: Dunbar Kits contain most items needed to install Rollers. However,
dust guards and screws are not supplied as it is impossible to
standardize on these items for the unlimited range of machines we
service. Obtain such 1. Remove Grinder Table, inspect and compare to installation diagram. 2. Clean ways, stone and file burrs. Teflon or other composition wear surfaces must be completely removed from ways. 3. Dunbar Rollers work well with or without lubrication. Removal of way lubrication system at this time is user’s option. 4. Position Rollers on ways. Make sure Rollers move freely and without interference especially in the oil groove at bottom of "V”. 5. Install retainer angle at flat way, if required (see diagram). Use spacers provided in kit to elevate angle if needed. Allow 1/8” clearance between retainer and flat Roller section. 6. Rack and pinion drives: Install spacers to lower rack on table (diagram). Longer rack screws usually required. Enlarge spacer hole as needed. 7. Replace table. Tighten cable, chain, belt or other flexible drives. 8. Inspect table and Roller motion again. ROLLERS MUST MOVE FREELY IN EITHER DIRECTION WITH THE MOVEMENT OF THE TABLE. ANY INTERFERENCE AND/OR RESTRICTION OF ROLLERS WILL RESULT IN FAULTY OPERATION. 9. Adjust positive table stops. THIS IS IMPORTANT AS TABLE NOW MOVES VERY FREELY AND COULD, CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE IF STOPS DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. 10. Dust strips along sides of table are recommended (See diagram). 11. Regrind chuck. OPERATION PROBLEMS: 1. Chatter or ripple marks on work: (A) Dirt, oil, gum, etc. on ways or Rollers. (B) One or both Rollers rubbing on machine casting. (C) Rack spacers oversize causing pinion to jam rack. CD) Too much spotting remaining on table ways. 2. Roller Walkout. Roller rubbing or catching on machine casting. 3. The Dunbar Roller Kit is practically trouble-free. A visual inspection will usually reveal the cause of any problem. If you need assistance, contact either your local dealer or phone us. WARNING: 1. TABLE STOPS MUST BE ADJUSTED TO PROVIDE A POSITIVE STOP IN EACH DIRECTION1 FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTS, CAUSING EQUIPMENT DAMAGE AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY. 2. TABLE STOPS SHOULD BE USED WHEN DRESSING THE GRINDING WHEEL |
